Certificate in Perinatal Emotional Health & Wellbeing: now open for enrolment SS25 cohort
Are you tired of seeing parents emotional and mental health needs come last?
-
Perhaps you have witnessed parents battle depression, anxiety and trauma and struggle through the early years of parenthood too often.
-
Have you seen the damage that is caused to relationships, confidence and sense of self when parents struggle with these issues?
-
Maybe you have been there yourself and understand how difficult it is to care for others when our own mental health has taken a hit.
-
Do you feel frustrated at the lack of resources available to the majority of parents who find themselves surviving their parenting experience?
-
Do you appreciate the short sightedness of undervaluing the emotional and mental health of parents in this way?
The Truth Is:
💫 more parents are experiencing trauma, depression and anxiety as part of their perinatal experience than ever before.
💫 our increased awareness of emotional and mental health disorders is beginning to start a conversation about these issues that was previously taboo.
💫 more parents are actively seeking a solution to their difficulties.
💫 more parents and professionals are becoming frustrated with the lack of resource available to them.
💫 becoming a parent presents a range of challenges to emotional health and wellbeing but with the right support it can be a time of huge growth and potential.
The biggest threat to perinatal mental health is the lack of appropriate support available after trauma, or when experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression

I feel that there's been a huge period of personal growth and healing for me during the certificate course over the past 18 months. Learning the techniques and putting them into practice in my own life has really helped with some of my own limiting beliefs and stories with mindfulness and a huge dose of compassion. So I feel this work is transformative for both the client and often for the practitioner too.
I'd absolutely recommend enrolling in the course to anyone who's motivated to really improve their understanding of emotional wellbeing of people during the perinatal period, and to learn in really quite a very deep way, the importance of the mind body connection.
Bernie Allport, Retired Midwife & Hypnobirthing Instructor
As a longstanding midwife and a hypnobirth practitioner, the certificate course has dovetailed into my life really well. I'm very critical and I'm very scientific, so it ticks all of those boxes for anybody similar. I decided I would reduce or stop my hypnobirthing practice. Instead of which, it's taken off even more, because as people sought support with anxieties and trauma, they've have then chosen to carry on and work with hypnobirthing. It's very well paced, allowing you to learn at your own time scale. I have really loved studying all the topics.
I kind of looked at some of the modules and thought, "I've done that, know that, or whatever. I've seen that in my clinical practice," but the angle at which this comes from is quite different.
Hannah Gerken, Midwife & Owner of Reframing Birth
After finishing the certificate, I feel confident and competent in offering guidance and delving deeper into supporting people on their perinatal journey instead of feeling like I have to tip toe around the emotional side.
Alex has a wealth of knowledge, inspiring me to think about things I never would have before. Her feedback and overall perspective on perinatal wellbeing is a breath of fresh air that I didn't know I needed, but now I couldn't be without.
My entire business has transformed since completing the certificate and I would truly recommend it to others supporting parents in the perinatal period.
Jane Allen
Midwife
Jane has spent the extra time lockdown has given her to go through the TBR courses, here is what she has to say:
'I had the privilege of training in TBR 3-step Rewind with Alex 4 years ago. Having trained as a hypnobirthing teacher the year before it seemed like a natural fit.
Rewind has been totally transformative in my life and is where I feel my life’s true calling - to work with not only mums & partners but also midwives who may have been traumatised by a birth that they have been involved in.
The difference that is achievable in the relief of the symptoms of a traumatic birth experience in such a short intervention is incredible.
I have spent shielding/lockdown completing the other courses that Alex is now offering and they have widened and broaden the depth in the areas of baby loss, perinatal anxiety and depression. I can’t wait for further courses to offer support to more women.'
